Entertainment and Adventures
Argelès is loved by people of all ages with kids activities, historic sites, art, music, Catalan culture, local wine and food. The tree-lined promenade makes for a relaxing stroll enjoying the sea views. It is an excellent base for sports enthusiasts, especially walkers, cyclists and open water swimmers.
Attractions include the beach at Argelès-Plage – seven kilometres (four miles) of it! as well as Espace Loisirs, with karting, adventure park canyoning, a fairground and horse riding. Boat trips, subject to season and weather, take you along the spectacular coastal route to Spain.
The old town has attractive narrow streets, high quality French restaurants, a mediaeval church tower as well as a twice weekly traditional market.
The Parc de Valmy is a pleasant setting for a relaxing picnic, tasting the local wine, enjoying a stroll through the nature trail with Mediterranean flora and beautiful views of coast and the Albères mountains.
A tourist road-train travels around the town, the 'navette' bus shuttle runs through summer and there is access to local towns via the fantastic eco-friendly one euro fare bus service and by train.
By the marina in Port Argelès are lots of good value places to eat including daily menus for around 15–20 Euros.
